WWW Wednesday - June 22, 2011

To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently, I am still slogging my way through "Blind Assassin" by Margaret Atwood. I like the book. I am "into" the story. This past week has not been kind to my reading time. I had intended to read it with the 1book140 group on Twitter. But I am about two chapters behind and getting frustrated.

My other book I am currently reading "Shadow of the Silk Road" is sitting abandoned right now as any free moment I have gets devoted to trying to keep up in "Blind Assassin." And that's part, at least, that has me so frustrated. It's a good book. But I feel more like I'm just trying to keep up than really enjoy reading it.

I have not managed to get anything finished :-/

Next, I am thinking about returning to "The Wheel of Time," in Robert Jordan's second in the series, "The Great Hunt."

Thank you!

  1. I have been really meaning to get to the Robert Jordan series. But there are so many books, I get really intimidated :(

  2. Keep persevering! I admire you for sticking with The Blind Assassin. I keep putting it off but one day soon I'm going to have to pick it up!

  3. Thanks for visiting my blog!

My bf just finished the Blind Assassin and he really liked it, but he's super into literary fiction. I've never read it, but I do like Margaret Atwood (yay Canadian authors!). You might want to try Oryx and Crake, that's probably one of my favs from her. It's more science-fiction-y/dystopian.

  8. I know what you mean about feeling like you're just trying to keep up and not really enjoying what you're reading, in spite of feeling like they are good books. Hang in there! I've read the first Wheel of Time book as well, a long time ago, and haven't gotten back to them yet. Not read any Margaret Atwood yet, but have heard good things.

Thanks for stopping by my WWW!
