Wordless Wednesday: All That Is Left


The bank vault at the Commerce Bank branch at 1804 E. 20th St. was the only part of the structure left standing after the tornado a week ago Sunday.(Joplin Globe/Randy Tobias)

  4. oh my gosh...so sad ...it speaks volumes. Its a beautiful photograph despite the destruction in its wake...and yet gives the hope of survival with a sturdy foundation. excellent excellent post!

  8. so sad, I am thinking this is the tornado that took many lives, the trees behind look like seletons like burnt trees, do you live in this area? my thoughts are with those who lost loved ones, Frances

  9. We had so much devastation here in Alabama that our hearts just went out very deeply to the people of Joplin. This photograph speaks resiliency to me.

  20. Good for the bank vault, I guess. It is so sad to see the devastation surrounding it. There are people in Joplin that I knew (it is a few hours south of where I live). I met students at camp about 12 years ago...and to know that they and their families are suffering breaks my heart. Thank you for stopping by my blog, however.
